You and Hit Counter others have stopped by to see Cher & Cyndi

On  September 23rd @ Ft Lauderdale's National Car  Rental center  was all abuzz over the return of Chers’ DO YOU BELIEVE  tour for  the second time in 3 months. Despite it being a Thursday night, the arena was sold out. As one of the concert goers stated to me “ I’ll  come see her as many times as she comes to town , She’s great !!!

Around 9:15, the performer everyone was here to see came onto the stage to a standing ovation.  Cher, opening with a cover of U2’S “ I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For “

She was wearing a long red wig and what she described as her  Braveheart” outfit. She took some time after the first song and talked with the audience often poking fun at herself.  In looking around the arena it was amazing to see the cross section of  her fans, young and old, from all types of backgrounds.

Her performance resembled more of a Vegas review than a concert, with a stage full of dancers, elaborate stage sets and of course, numerous costume and wig changes. Her set was comprised of plenty of  her older hits like  Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves  mixed in with some of  her  more recent songs such as One, If  I could turn back time.

If  Cher  has aged at all, it didn’t show  at all this night. As she put on a high energy extravaganza. Her fans had come expecting  a great performance and Cher  showed why  she is, and will continue to be regarded as one of this generations greatest  and most gifted performers.

Cyndi Lauper opened for Cher, she made her entrance through the crowd as she worked her  way  up to the stage. She began her set with SHE-BOP, an old classic from her early days. Dressed in purple with blue hair, she appeared to be the Cyndi we all grew to love but that’s where the similarities ended. No longer are her songs commercial or bubblegum pop. Her voice is now much more mature and trained, her songs older & wiser, with a message. Her set lasted around 45 minutes as she had to leave to do a show somewhere in south Miami beach.
